Welcome to the pHin Beta Test Program
We’re thrilled to have you as a beta tester! This site will guide you through everything you need to know before, during and after the testing process so please be sure to bookmark it.
Section I: Getting Started
1 Sign the NDA.
Your participation in the pHin Beta Test is confidential. Please do not disclose details about your pHin experience to the general public. (e.g. don’t post images or details about pHin on social media). Doing so will unfortunately result in closure of your pHin Beta account and a request to return the pHin and chemicals. We will encourage you to share your pHin experience with your friends after we launch – just not quite yet. Click here to sign our pHin Beta Test NDA.
2 Make sure your pool is in good condition.
pHin is designed to keep healthy water balanced so it’s important that your vessel, pool equipment and water are all in good condition and that your pump runs at least 8 hours a day. If you need help with your pool or equipment, let us know and we’ll gladly connect you with a qualified pool technician, if available in your area, who can perform the requested service for you at a pre-negotiated price.
3 Ignore the password setup email.
Before your pHin starter box arrives, you will receive an email asking you to set a password. YOU DO NOT NEED TO SET UP A PASSWORD. We are rolling out a simplified, paswordless login process so please ignore this step.
4 Set up your pHin.
When your pHin Beta Starter box arrives, download the pHin Mobile App on your phone, log in and follow the instructions to set up your pHin Smart Monitor and Wireless Bridge. If you have previously downloaded it and have auto-update turned on, you should already have the latest version. If not, manually update to the latest version.
NOTE: SKIP THE MINERAL PURIFIER DURING SETUP. During the pHin setup process, you will be instructed to put a mineral purifier in your pool (see image). Please DO NOT do this. Instead, put it aside and we will ask you to do this at a later time. This change will be reflected in a later version of the app. You’re all set. Happy Testing!
Section II: During the Test
1 If you have a pool service, let them know NOT TO ADD CHEMICALS during the test.
For the duration of your Beta Test, please continue your normal pool maintenance activities, but use the pHin Smart Monitor and Mobile App to manage the pool chemicals. If you have a pool service, you can let them clean the pool, and they should let you know what your chemical levels are so we can compare it to our system. However, in order for our chemical engine to learn about your pool and make accurate recommendations, IT’S IMPORTANT THAT YOU (not your pool service) ARE THE ONE ADDING CHEMICALS DURING THE TEST AND THAT YOU ONLY USE CHEMICALS PROVIDED BY pHin.
2 Provide feedback early and often.
We want to hear from you as much as possible on every part of your experience – from the delivery of the Beta Starter Box and ease of downloading the app to setting up your pHin. A few times each week, we will send you an email reminder to complete a Beta Experience Survey, which should take no more than 2 minutes. Please complete these promptly so that we can improve your experience as quickly as possible. If you run into any issues, please send us a message by clicking Customer Care in the App menu. Give us as much detail as possible and attach screenshots or pictures if you have them. In short, BRING IT! We want to hear it all and promise to make good use of every bit of feedback.
3. Share your pHin in action with us.
We love it when we get pictures from our testers with their pHins in their pool or hot tub in the background. Feel free to gather your friends and family, snap some photos and share them with us!
Section III: Wrapping Up
About a week before the end of the test, you will receive an email from us with instructions on how to bring your test to a close and transition into your regular subscription.
