We are entering our 16th season with our pool. For many years we collected water samples and put drops in them, then did our best to determine which color on the scale was closest to our water sample. For the last several seasons, we have had the absolute luxury of having our pHin monitor let us know when we needed to make adjustments to our pool water. Becoming dependant on it didn't take any time at all. Recently, our monitor stopped communicating, and the awesome folks at pHin have been quick to respond, and I am confident that we will soon have our system back up and communicating again! I can't say enough positive things about the monitoring system, but now am happy to report that the customer service makes this system an essential for any pool or spa owner! Very happy with the customer service! Very responsive and very helpful. Had an issue with the monitor and they replaced it without question several months ago. Had some connectivity issues recently that I traced to the bridge and they responded to my email in less than an hour and said a replacement is on the way.
It works as advertised and can honestly say it has never been easier to maintain my Hot Tub!!If you have a hot tub, you MUST have a pHin. The best money I have ever spent. It doesn't completely eliminate the need for independent testing and balancing, but I think in the past year I've only had to check the pH one time. A great utility I don't want to go without now, especially in the winter months when the last thing I want to be doing is standing out in the cold trying to balance the chem. Now it's ready all the time.I loved the device when it worked. Purchased my own chemicals, followed the app instructions and the pool looked as great as when we had the pool serviced professionally. Unfortunately, mine died after 3 months of use. Noticed water doplets inside the battery chamber. Contacted customer service and after a few emails, finally received a replacement. Looking forward to the 24/7 monitoring and peace of mind again. It has enabled us to use and enjoy our spa like we have never been able to before. We have an LA Spas HEET spa and have had it for about 8 years. And over that time I have struggled with getting the chemicals right. Too much of this and not enough of that. Cloudy water... chemical smells and scum on the sides of the spa.
Until Phin. I can't tell you enough how much you will appreciate having your own Phin monitoring your water keeping your pool or spa ready to use. Ans since you only use the chemicals you need and don't need to drain your spa as often... it can cost less.I saw this device a few years ago on Tech Crunch and was pretty interested! I've always found it a pain to check my own chemicals as a pool owner but there was no way I was going to pay someone to do it for me. I do admit I did have to wait a while to get the device but we have had it for over a month now and WOW! I never realized how many extra chemicals I was dumping into my pool that throwing it off. pHin has everything settled down now and since they ship me the chemicals as part of the subscription I don't have to worry about not having enough on hand. I have a lot of devices like this, Nest, Skydrop and other home tech toys and this is the most helpful by a long shot!
